CIFAL Atlanta hosts Seminar on Air Service Development
29-31 October 2018, Atlanta, United States - The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Atlanta (CIFAL Atlanta) in partnership with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Airports Council International held a seminar on Air Service Development in Nadi, Fiji.
This event gathered 22 high-ranking airport officials that represented primarily Oceanic countries, including Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, Micronesia, Kiribati, Samoa and the Cook Islands. Furthermore, representatives from India and Iran also participated in this event.
Through a combination of short presentations, case studies, and dialogue sessions, participants developed skills to enhance route networks and business strategies at the airports. A well-developed route network ameliorates the function of an airport as a connecting point and, as a consequence, it increases an airport’s commercial success.
In addition, participants learned about the importance of partnerships with multi-stakeholders to improve air service strategies that should make them stand out in domestic and/ or international markets.
By the end of the seminar, attendees expressed their high level of satisfaction as innovative and useful information related to accommodative airport policies, access to facilities, and competitive pricing was presented.
